Being on a reality show is like turning a light switch on and off. It happens just that fast. When it’s over, it’s over - and you’re left in the dark until someone else turns it back on for you. It was a very humbling experience.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 06, 2014

While Lawrence Beamen was singing his way into the Top 5 on America’s Got Talent, Piers Morgan christened him “the new Barry White.” When the show ended, Lawrence thought his future would be golden. What happened next was just the opposite: doubt, bad management, and fading dreams. When he hit rock bottom, Lawrence decided there was nowhere to go but up.

His new single and music video "Round and Round" is the start of a fresh journey, one filled with new hope and excitement. With the help of his radio campaign team out of Los Angeles, the song is being picked up by radio stations around the country. On April 26, it reached #11 on Billboard's Hot Single Sales Charts and is in the Top 40 Mediabase Activator Chart. Lawrence is currently working on a new album, to be released in the summer.

The classically trained baritone singer went through hell and back in the years following the show. “Being on a reality show is like turning a light switch on and off. It happens just that fast. When it’s over, it’s over - and you’re left in the dark until someone else turns it back on for you,” says Lawrence.

“I believe with all my heart that music is the power – always has been, always will be,” he says. “But I considered walking away from it forever.”

Today, Lawrence is singing a new song. In March of 2014, he signed himself to his own label Survive Records - a name he chose after emerging from that dark and painful time.

Lawrence wanted his first single to be filled with joy – the kind of music that makes people get up and dance, and keep dancing in their souls long after they’ve sat back down. Together with his music producer Larry Batiste and Malek, Lawrence wrote and produced “Round and Round,” building a catchy tune that grabs you and doesn’t let go. With his rich, baritone voice and twinkling smile, Lawrence has created the perfect Song and Music Video to ease you into summer.

“The past is the past,” says Lawrence. “It’s time to set my inner deference's aside and move up and move on.”

Lawrence has a compelling story to tell, from singing for Rosa Parks to recording with legendary artists such as Andra'e Crouch and Chuckii Booker, to name a few.

Inspired by the depth of Barry White, the soul of Mahalia Jackson, and the honesty and rhythm of Bill Withers, Lawrence is creating a wealth of new music. In addition to working on an album, he is also writing a book titled: "The Power From Within - The Artist From The South by Way of Mississippi”.

Lawrence now has a new dream: To perform, act, and speak for huge audiences around the world, and to give back by doing fundraisers for PBS. Someday, Lawrence wants to host his own talk show. “I’m ready,” he says. “Bring it on.”
