Country Rocker Jared Blake Talks about “Live to Be Sober” on Houston Morning TV Show
(PRWEB) October 15, 2014 -- Country Music’s "bad boy, gone good” Jared Blake reflected on his history with recovery, and about his sponsorship partnership with addiction referral service Live to Be Sober, during a special appearance on KHOU-TV’s “Great Day Houston” morning show that aired on August 29, 2014.
Blake, who was a season one contestant on NBC’s The Voice, also performed a live acoustic version of his first independent release “Don’t Mind.” A video of the special appearance is available on the KHOU-TV website at http://www.khou.com/media/cinematic/video/14393062/country-rock-rebel/
“As I’ve said before and I’m sure I’ll say again, the reason I became sober was so that I could live,” commented Blake, whose history with addiction and recovery is well-known thanks to the Country rocker’s willingness and courage to share his story. “And for as long as I can, I’m going to try and help as many people as possible become aware that help is available – either for themselves, or for a family member or friend who is battling addiction. That’s the mission of Live to Be Sober, and I’m proud to say that it’s part of my mission, too.”
“Jared’s commitment to helping other people draw strength from his personal life is inspirational,” commented Per Wickstrom of Live To Be Sober. “He’s not some talking head giving a lecture, or some ineffective PSA that nobody listens to. He’s the real deal, he speaks straight from his heart, and he represents a new kind of role model in our society: one who has fought and climbed their way back to sobriety, and now wants to help others.”
