The app brings ancient astrology to the modern dating scene, allowing singles and couples alike to quantify their compatibility using a five-star rating system. By entering their birth dates, times, and places, two people can instantaneously test their compatibility for love and marriage across seven different Vedic and Chinese astrology measures.
The app’s five-star rating system generates a weighted average of the seven measures using an algorithm developed by internationally renowned Vedic Astrologer, Prasannan. Prasannan’s experience includes over 20 years of astrology consultations to over 50,000 clients worldwide. Love Digits’ carefully formulated algorithm makes the app the first love compatibility tool in the market to combine Vedic astrology, Vedic numerology—a subcategory of Vedic astrology, and Chinese astrology into a single platform. “We’re harnessing several forms of tried and tested Indian and Chinese astrology in a modern love compatibility tool. The weighted, five-star rating system breaks down as follows: 66% Vedic astrology, 26% Vedic numerology, and 10% Chinese astrology, and a couple’s birth dates, times and places hold varying degrees of importance for each of the three components.
The Vedic astrology component—also known as Jyotish astrology—draws on all three criteria to prepare separate unique horoscope charts (or birth charts) for users and their partners. The horoscope charts, included in Love Digits’ Unlimited Access plan, identify each person’s Sidereal Zodiac sign and provides a “map of the universe” (i.e. the location of the zodiacs, the sun, moon, and planets) calculated based on exactly when and where the person was born. The Sidereal Zodiac has 12 signs, and a couple’s compatibility is influenced by whether their respective Sidereal zodiac signs are in sync.
The app’s Vedic Numerology and Chinese Astrology components focus on birthdays and birth years. The Vedic Numerology component computes compatibility using the numeric value of each person’s birthday, where as the Chinese Astrology component, gauges compatibility based on the ruling animal in each person’s birth year. People born under specific ruling animals are expected to experience a more supportive and harmonious relationship with partners born under complementary ruling animals. There are 12 animal signs, which repeat every 12 years.
Love Digits is currently available in the Apple iTunes Store for iOS versions 7.0 and above. The app is free to download and with unlimited ability to get compatibility scores. For $1.99, users can upgrade to the Unlimited Access plan, which provides unrestricted access to the partner ratings feature, horoscope charts, and match details and match comparison charts to accompany each rating. The upgrade also includes a recommendations section for those users who haven’t found “the one” and are in need of a little nudge in the right direction. Love Digits LLC plans to release the Android version of the app by September 2014.
