New devotional, Bible study harnesses power of prayer
ROSEBURG, Ore. (PRWEB) November 13, 2014 -- As a Bible teacher, Lynn Ferder finds that people are searching for hope, answers to life’s challenges and a faith in something that is lasting and unchanging. To remedy this, Ferder began teaching monthly prayer retreats that guide the seeker in discovering solutions, and the response was overwhelming.
Her new book, “The Way into the Holy of Holies: A 12 Day Prayer Journey Through the Tabernacle” (published by WestBow Press), captures the essence of the prayer retreats and translates the messages and practices onto the page.
Intended as a devotional, prayer guide and Bible study, “The Way into the Holy of Holies” outlines the model of prayer first described in the Old Testament Tabernacle of Moses. Each step carefully explores the symbolic meaning of the Tabernacle items, explaining how they bring readers closer to the presence of God.
In addition to prayer, Ferder also discusses the daily applications of the Tabernacle in everyday life. She explains how the Tabernacle allows readers to recognize and accept life’s challenges in order to achieve a deeper relationship with God. With her book, she hopes that readers will know that God cares and hears their prayers.
“This book provides the words we struggle to find when we want to express the depth of our heart in prayer, but are anxious that we might somehow say the wrong thing,” Ferder says. “It reveals to us that God just wants us to be ourselves and come to him and pour out our heart to him.”
