Lynn Gauthier Offers Personal Stories of Overcoming Vanity
Beckett, MA (PRWEB) August 15, 2013 -- In her new book “Let's Talk about Hair: The Truth beyond the Looking Glass” (published by iUniverse), author Lynn Gauthier explores a contentious, very personal and tangled subject: a person’s relationship with their hair, and that relationship’s influence on vanity and more.
“Let’s Talk about Hair” is a short memoir of hair stories, recounting the author’s visits to hair salons on sudden impulse, compulsive experimentation with her own scissors and trips back and forth to the mirror to keep checking for perfection. This eventually led to her turning point, where she surrendered to God.
“My search for perfection in the mirror consumed me,” says Gauthier. “Finding the right covering for my head had less to do with my hair and more about discovering faith in an awesome God who covered all the concerns in my life. Through hair stories and not-so-hair stories I learn to let go of my vanity and embrace with contentment the image I now see when I look in the mirror.”
Gauthier knows her stories are accessible. “My vain search for perfection could be any woman’s story,” she says. “Our vanity is strangely powerful if not kept in check.”
