Author Maridol Torres states her new book, “Unveiling the Soul” (published by Balboa Press AU), is filled with inspirations to uplift the spirit and provide comfort and love in times of grief and loss. “It allows us to see a bigger imagery of what may be beyond the flesh and that of our present being,” she says.

Through “Unveiling the Soul,” Torres wanted to create a unique book that “seems to come alive and takes the viewer on a little journey in which each page opens to a world of wonder as seen through the eyes of the soul, in its venture into the greatest mysteries.”

An excerpt of the poem, “Heart Aglow,” from “Unveiling the Soul”:
Silent being
Of formless light
Kindling a glow
Brighter than the sun,
Filling you with luminance
From the inside out,
And the strength
Which gives wings
To your heart.

Poetry and artwork from “Unveiling the Soul” is on display at Hervey Bay Art Gallery, 166 Old Maryborough Road, until July 10.
