Marie Hunter Atwood Connects Events of Bible in New Book
HESPERUS, Colo. (PRWEB) August 15, 2013 -- Author Marie Hunter Atwood watched her five children grow up as faithful followers of God. However, she felt something was missing from both their training and her own: a lack of understanding regarding the cohesiveness of Scripture and of God’s continuity and sameness. Her new book, “And There Was War in Heaven: A Guide to Understanding God's Purpose and His Plan” (published by WestBow Press), is an attempt to remedy this lack, not only for her own family, but for all who suffer from a similar lack.
“I felt that by showing God’s story from beginning to end as a connected unit, it could be a starting point for those who still yearn for God, but don’t know how to find Him,” says Atwood.
The book aims to reconnect readers who desire a better relationship with God. Atwood reaches out to readers who do not attend church regularly and those that do, but fail to get anything out of the service. Beginning with a beautiful description of the creation and ending with a startling glimpse of the end, “And There Was War in Heaven” reminds readers that God is fair to all mankind and wants a relationship with all humans.
An excerpt from “And There Was War in Heaven”:
“Was there a purpose behind that story? Of course! Jonah had a bad attitude and he didn’t trust God. His problem? He didn’t want the Gentile Assyrians to whom he was to preach repentance to be forgiven. After all, Moses’ Law was not for Assyrians it was for Israel.”
When asked how she came to write this book, Atwood tells readers that “the war with Satan began with his rebellion with God, so everything that has happened connects to that event. At first the war was between Satan and God, but after the resurrection Satan realized that he was defeated. Satan then rushed to heaven and declared war with Michael and the archangels as his one last opportunity for a comeback, but was once again defeated.”
