Marilyn Cavanaugh Pens New Christmas Children’s Book
Port Orchard, WA (PRWEB) October 26, 2013 -- When her children were young, author Marilyn Cavanaugh tried to find a new way each year to make the Christmas Season special for her four children. With a strong passion for poetry and rhyme, she wrote a song for her children about a little mouse that travels with Santa on Christmas Eve. Now, Cavanaugh shares her popular family tune with other families in her debut children’s book, A Christmas Mouse (published by AuthorHouse).
After moving into our first house, my children and I sat in front of the fireplace and recorded a cassette tape of Christmas songs,” explains Cavanaugh. “My children were always happy to sing, and the Christmas Mouse song became a favorite from that moment on.”
A Christmas Mouse follows a cute, little mouse who stows away in Santa Claus’ sack as he leaves to deliver Christmas gifts. Each time Santa makes a stop, the mouse darts quickly to eat the cookies set out by the boys and girls while helping Santa lay the presents under the tree.
The book’s colorful illustrations will delight young readers, and the music to the Christmas Mouse song is included at the end of the book. "A Christmas Mouse delivers a message of sharing the Christmas spirit with everyone, even a mouse!” exclaims Cavanaugh.
