MilitaryRecords.us.org Announces Their 2013 Website Relaunch
SAN DIEGO, CA (PRWEB) July 10, 2013 -- MilitaryRecords.us.org has been officially relaunched after database issues caused the site to be put on hold several months ago, the company said yesterday.
“Our company shut down in late February when we realized that the data in our system had become corrupted,” a MilitaryRecords.us.org spokesman said. “It took us several months to correct the problem and make sure it will not happen again. Today we are proud to announce that MilitaryRecords.us.org is back online and back in business.”
MilitaryRecords.us.org allows people to search for publicly available military records from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. The information often includes medals received, time served, final rank, state of discharge, and more.
“We were saddened when we had to shut our site down,” the MilitaryRecords.us.org spokesman said. “We had installed third-party software that deeply corrupted our database. We stopped using the software, but still had to rebuild all of our data from scratch. It was a very time consuming and labor intensive operation.”
The company has since developed its own software to make sure the problem won't happen again, he said.
“We learned the hard way that you can't count on third-party vendors,” the MilitaryRecords.us.org spokesman said. “We have to take responsibility for the integrity of our database.”
