Minister Mattie Pearl Walton grew up on meager means: she walked to school in shoes too small; her father, instead of working, took money from what she earned working in the fields; the food they had was mostly stolen from neighbors. In “God Is My Soul Provider” (published by iUniverse), Walton recounts the hopelessness she felt throughout her youth and how God saved her and helped her transcend beyond her destitute circumstances.

“God is my soul provider and I wanted others to know that God is my soul provider,” Walton says. “God heals the best man in town, he’s whatever you want him to be.”

Walton is embarking on a marketing campaign to promote the book. She hopes readers will come away with a sense that God can heal all wounds, no matter how deep.

An excerpt from “God Is My Soul Provider”:
Take time out in life for Jesus and yourself. This is for you. Take time for Jesus. Let him do the speaking and you do the listening. After all, he knows what is best for you, so in all ways acknowledge him. He will direct thy path. Take time with your spouse and you can make it or you can break it. You have to make a choice. Love started with love. Charity starts at home.
