Lee Carlson Center is Now Offering Chemical Health Assessments
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) April 05, 2015 -- Lee Carlson Center has historically specialized in mental health work with children and teens. In addition to in-clinic services, they also provide mental health services in eight schools throughout the northern suburbs. Over 60% of Lee Carlson Center clients are between the ages of 6-17. They are one of the only mental health agencies in Anoka County to offer psychiatric services and comprehensive psychological testing assessment for children as young as four-years-old.
“While no one test can fully diagnose or capture the essence of an individual, appropriate and effective measures do provide significant information which is helpful in clarifying the clinical picture. A mixture of standardized tests and subjective rating scales are used in an effort to fine tune the diagnostic presentation and aide in treatment planning,” says Development Manager Patty Halvorson.
Lee Carlson Center meets all accountability standards required by the Charities Review Council, which conducts a review of Lee
Carlson Center's accountability practices each year and publishes this review on its website.
The Charities Review Council seeks to mobilize informed donors and accountable nonprofits for the greater good. Through cloud-based nonprofit technical assistance, responsive customer service, nonprofit learning communities, and donor education, they hope to build a culture of philanthropy where donors and nonprofits are engaged partners, working together toward stronger communities.
Lee Carlson Center offers internship and practicum opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students seeking experience working in the mental health field. Interns may assist staff and/or provide direct service with supervision. Experience is available to qualified interns in a variety of settings such as schools, their domestic abuse program and their adult drop-in center. These programs run year-round and internship opportunities can range from six months to over a year.
Lee Carlson Center’s clinic is open Monday-Friday and Saturday's by appointment. They accept all major insurances as well as medical assistance and Lee Carlson Center remains one of the few providers in the area to use an income based sliding fee scale for individuals and families with no insurance who reside in Anoka County. No one is turned away due to inability to pay.
