50 Golden Couples Renew Vows at Mission Inn Resort
Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. (PRWEB) November 24, 2014 -- Under sunny skies in the Plaza de la Fontana at Mission Inn Resort & Club 50 couples married 50 years or longer renewed their vows in a group ceremony yesterday, solidifying their commitment to one another.
“Good relationships never stop growing,” said the Reverend Glynn Ferguson, who conducted the vow renewal, which included a champagne toast, bubbles and confetti.
Bill and Jeanette Victor of Mount Dora, Fla. were the longest married couple and will celebrate their 70th year of marriage on December 30. Other couples came from across Florida and five other states to partake in the festivities.
The resort has been owned and managed by the Beucher family since 1964 and in honor of the 50-year milestone, the weddings and conference services team created an opportunity for others to celebrate by simply submitting an application.
“With three generations of our family involved in the hospitality business, 50 years have produced for us and our guests quite literally a lifetime of memories to reminisce,” said Bud Beucher, Mission Inn Resort’s vice president and general manager. “We wanted a unique way to reflect on our half century of ownership and management and this occasion was the perfect way to celebrate and personally show our appreciation.”
As one participant quipped during a group photo session, “Is this for the Guinness World Book of Records or Ripley’s Believe It or Not?”
Mission Inn has long been known as “the special occasion resort in Central Florida” and host site for many memorable weddings, proms, holiday meals, family reunions, and festivities.
