WELLS, Maine (PRWEB) August 06, 2015 -- Author Molly Talevi hopes to alleviate the serious concerns that many children have before their first sleepover in her debut children’s book, “Hammy and Murph's First Sleepover” (published by AuthorHouse).
When Hammy the hamster invites Murph the dog to a sleepover, Murph readily accepts, but then he starts to worry about what it might be like to sleep in a strange place. Murph’s fears turn to excitement, however, when he realizes hamsters are nocturnal and they stay up all night.
This educational and comforting story considers some of the real-life concerns that children have when they are invited to their first sleepover. Talevi was inspired by her own son’s experience and tackles issues like getting hungry, falling asleep and being scared in a strange, new environment.
“Sleeping over at a friend’s house is a big step toward a child’s independence,” Talevi says. “This book will ease the minds of many children by showing them how much fun they can have at their first sleepover.”
Talevi hopes to encourage children in a fun and humorous way not to let fear of the unknown dictate their behavior.
