An unhappy bride-to-be finds herself in the past and must save her grandmother from entering into a loveless marriage in author Monica Wright’s new historical novel, “Bridal Veil” (published by iUniverse).
As Charly Ellington slips into her great-great-great-grandmother’s ill-fitting wedding dress, she knows she’s breaking the line of perfect romances in her family. Though her marriage to Trenton Foxworth III, a senatorial candidate, will help her father win the presidential race, Charly doesn’t love him and wishes she were running for office herself.
When Charly sees her grandmother’s reflection in her mirror, she falls through the glass, where she meets Charlotte Foster in the year 1885. Charlotte is not living the fairy tale Charly has grown up hearing, and it’s up to Charly to set things right.
Wright’s historical romance combines humor with a touch of magic as one man teaches Charly that love is not about political connections. Wright hopes to impart a message about never giving up.
“Live the life of your own choosing,” says Wright, “no matter what pressures stand in your way.”
