Alfred Roberts Shares His Story of Life on High Seas
CESSNOCK, Australia (PRWEB) June 13, 2016 -- “My Respectable Life” (published by Balboa Press AU) reveals the true story of one man’s journey through life as he experienced the drama of the high seas and discovered that nothing is ever easy during a pursuit for happiness.
Author Alfred Roberts worked at sea for 30 years, spending about 15 years away from home. “When I retired I felt I had lost a big part of my life,” he says. “I got a tattoo on my upper arm of a ship’s propeller and a compass and wrote this book.” Roberts adds that the book is truthful and has great philosophy and lessons in forbidden love.
The first person to read his book, 47-year-old Jodi Louise from the Gold Coast Australia, writes, “A raw and powerful account of the unique experiences of a man that remembers memories from the womb, birth and his first year of life, his out of body experiences and how he managed to will his spirit back. Well written, fast flowing from one page to the next. Men and women will enjoy reading this book.”
An excerpt from “My Respectable Life”:
I became restless and excited and my mother was squashing me without care or empathy. What was this change? I didn’t want it, why should I? I fought her but she was too strong for me, then I saw a blinding light, white and brilliant, hurting my eyes. “Follow the light,” my primeval ancestors said to me and then I felt the freezing cold on my face, a tremendously loud sound in my head, deafening and painful as I heard my cry.
