The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Michelle Demetrius as a 2015-2016 inductee into the NAPW VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in consulting. With more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters, NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women.
“I’m pleased to welcome Michelle into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her success in the consulting field is sure to inspire young girls and women to choose this career path.”
While in college, Michelle Demetrius was part of a work study as a marketing major. Learning from her supervisor, a WWII survivor from Germany, she came to love human resources (HR) and changed majors. Ms. Demetrius had kept in touch with the woman, who she looked upon as a mentor, for many years after graduation and always loved her positive outlook on life and putting others first.
In April of 2015, Ms. Demetrius transitioned to independent consulting. She focuses on compensation, benefits and HR information systems. Patience and common sense, two of Ms. Demetrius’ most effective skills, must be applied to every project and scenario and this is where she succeeds.
“Each employer has a different challenge and I enjoy being a catalyst for change and improvement,” she said.
Ms. Demetrius is in the process of obtaining her license to become an Independent Wealth Management Advisor, which helps individuals meet their short-term financial needs and long-term retirement goals. With a love for math and a desire to assist as many people as possible, she utilizes all her skills to ensure her employers a “win-win” scenario for the total compensation package. Ms. Demetrius received her Health / Life Producers license in May 2015 and is currently studying for her Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.
