The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Diane Hinson as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business and law. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“It gives me great pleasure to present Diane with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “She used her expertise to build a successful business enterprise.”
Before taking on the role of Owner of Creative Family Connections, LLC, Ms. Hinson already held quite a few impressive titles in her law career, including a number of firsts for women. “I was the first female General Counsel of the Federal Communications Commission, the first female VP / General Counsel of the large satellite conglomerate Intelsat and the first woman ever to be called “Ms.” by The New York Times!” said Ms. Hinson.
Today, Ms. Hinson is the Owner and Founder of Creative Family Connections, LLC, a law firm that helps parents build families through assisted reproduction. Founded in 2001, the firm provides all necessary legal support services to parents, including matching them to a gestational carrier and supporting all parties throughout the process.
“Long before it was ‘fashionable’ to be a single mother by choice, I started my own family by adopting as a single parent. That decision was unquestionably the best thing I ever did, and has informed my passion that everyone should be able to build a family, no matter who they are,” said Ms. Hinson.
Backed by their founding principle, “because everyone can build a family,” Creative Family Connections advocates for the rights of all parents to build families—including gay or straight, single or coupled. The firm is ranked the top firm in the world for customer service satisfaction by parents who have completed their surrogacy journeys.
“Our state-by-state interactive surrogacy map is relied on by everyone in the surrogacy industry for legal information about the surrogacy and donor laws of the 50 states and DC,” she said.
Awards & Accomplishments: Member of American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and American Bar Association’s Assisted Reproductive Technology Committee; Elected Fellow of American Academy of Assisted Reproduction Technology Attorneys (AAARTA)
