NAPW Inducts Amanda Alexander, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, University of Missouri, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle

She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in education. With her extensive experience as a student and now employee, she knows the ins and outs of the University of Missouri from different viewpoints. Through sheer will and hard work, Dr. Alexander has built a strong foundation that continues to secure her reputation as an honest, capable and caring educator.
Specializing in event planning, teaching, media and volunteer motivation, Dr. Alexander is extremely involved with the university, which specializes in higher education. She teaches Introduction to Hospitality Management, Hotel Organization and Structure, Current Issues in Meeting and Event Management, Field Experience in Hospitality Management and Special Events Management at the university.
Dr. Alexander has obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, a Master’s in Hospitality Management and her Ph.D. in Hospitality Management, all from the University of Missouri. She additionally earned a minor in college in Teaching with her Ph.D., and successfully obtained her Certification in Online Education from Mizzou. She is currently involved with ISES, CMAA and Eta Sigma Delta. Drawn to and passionate about charitable organizations, Dr. Alexander is a supporter of No Kill Columbia, Sexual Assault Awareness and Breast Cancer Awareness.
