NAPW Inducts Flo Parmelee, Supreme President (2014-2015), Military Order of the Cootie Auxiliary, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 04, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Flo Parmelee as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in nonprofit management. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 775,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

Flo Parmelee has shaped her career around her passions for both helping veterans and serving the country. As Supreme President of the Military Order of the Cootie (MOC) Auxiliary, she travels the United States visiting hospitalized veterans and their families.
According to its website, the MOC is a “non-profit Veterans Service Organization” that “provides social and entertainment programs to members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the US as an Ancillary unit within the organization.” The Cooties have been working with hospitalized veterans since the outbreak of World War II.
“We show support and love by going to the hospitals and nursing homes to give what assistance we can,” said Ms. Parmelee. “Being a daughter, wife and mother of veterans, I love these heroes for their unselfish sacrifice for our country and our freedom.”
Prior to her appointment in the MOC, Ms. Parmelee worked as an Executive Assistant in the Department of Veterans Affairs. In later years, she held a position with the Social Security Administration as a Hearing Recorder, where she coordinated courtrooms, typed testimonies verbatim and worked with federal officials.
Ms. Parmelee is a graduate of Bringham Young University and is currently involved with other veteran-related organizations, including Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and Daughters of the American Revolution.
