National Association of Professional Women Inducts India Christian, President/CEO, Christian Home Healthcare, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) July 20, 2016 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors India Christian as a 2016-2017 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in home healthcare. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to recognize India with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her perseverance, work ethic and leadership qualities are an inspiration to all women.”
India Christian became interested in the home healthcare field while a pre-med student at the University of Pittsburgh. Having transferred from Edinboro University to Pittsburgh to stay close to home when her grandmother fell ill, Mrs. Christian watched her mother start her own in-home care company.
“I acquired clinical skills and an understanding of the business while working in the industry,” Mrs. Christian said. “I was mentored by my mother. My maternal grandparents were also entrepreneurs, and they have all greatly inspired me.”
Mrs. Christian founded Christian Home Healthcare (CHHC) in 2002, where her responsibilities include but are not limited to networking, facilitating weekly staff meetings, assessing growth, working with key staff, implementing department budgets and constructing procedures. “I am a natural born leader,” Mrs. Christian said. “I like to organize, impart structure and employ policies as well as procedures.”
In her position as President/CEO, Mrs. Christian is eager to make a difference in the lives of program participants. “One of the goals of CHHC is to help our participants forget about their ailments, even just for a short while,” she said. “I want them to enjoy life and to know that we care.”
Mrs. Christian is currently seeking certification to operate a Nursing Aid Certification Center and private school license. “I am hopeful that by expanding upon our training, we will have more workers with an even greater knowledge base and skill set,” she said.
For her commitment to achieving success according to her personal standards of excellence, and for her outstanding accomplishments in enriching her position with her diversified proficiencies, Mrs. Christian is being honored as a leader and role model for her profession.
