National Association of Professional Women Inducts Melanie Lewis, Principal Ombuds, Baker Hughes, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle

For the past three years, Melanie Lewis has been the Principal Ombuds at Baker Hughes in Houston, TX. She oversees all aspects of the organizational ombuds office’s operations and offerings to ensure effective performance and deliver its missions and goals. She also serves as Chief Designated Independent, Neutral, Confidential and Informal Conflict Management Practitioner for the company.
Ms. Lewis is a highly skilled leader in conflict management and a valued contributor to strategic initiatives resulting in a positive workplace environment. Her expertise is in conflict resolution, mediation, negotiation, ombudsing, dispute resolution program design, organizational effectiveness and change management.
Ms. Lewis is a Board Member in Certification of Organizational Ombudsman Practitioners (CO-OP), as well as supporting Society for Human Resources Professionals, Association for Conflict Resolution, International Ombudsman Association and CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution. She has obtained her Bachelor’s in Political Science from Tulane University, an MBA in Business from Kennesaw State University and most recently received a Juris Doctor from South Texas, College of Law.
