NAPW Loudoun County, VA Chapter Focused on Benefits of Networking and Discussed Its Support of Local Charities in July
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) August 13, 2013 -- Members and guests of the NAPW Loudoun County, VA Local Chapter gathered on July 23rd for a professional networking meeting at Eggspectation in the Village at Leesburg, VA.
The group of professional women focused on the benefits of networking with other NAPW members and making connections both personally and professionally.
Attendees also discussed ways in which the Chapter could support local charities such as the Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter and the American Red Cross.
NAPW Loudoun County Local Chapter President Jennifer Jank welcomed members and guests to the meeting and presented the Chapter’s newest member with an NAPW Welcome Packet, Pin and Pad. She invited the group of professional women to introduce themselves.
“As the women went around the table, they told us about their professions and what they do,” said Chapter President Jank.
“We then started discussing how networking with other members was such an important benefit of NAPW membership.”
Members and guests went on to talk about how they enjoyed the Chapter meetings and connecting with other women professionals, many of whom have the same types of concerns about their businesses, in a relaxed setting. They talked about the challenges of balancing work and life.
“Connecting with other business professionals is important when looking for a job and even for women who are happy with their current positions,” said President Jank.
The women talked about how meeting other professional women in person at Chapter meetings is helpful for trust-based businesses such as law and personal finance; it gives members greater comfort when recommending another NAPW member to people they know who might need help.
The group discussed how members can also get together online at napw.com. The excellent discounts offered by NAPW’s partners were also cited as a benefit of NAPW membership.
The women then discussed upcoming charitable event possibilities the Chapter could get involved in, including gathering items for the Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter (LAWS), also known as the Loudoun Citizens for Social Justice. Another possibility is the American Red Cross, if the Chapter is able to designate items those in need in Loudoun County, as the Chapter has agreed to support local groups when possible.
“The Loudoun County Chapter is very excited to start supporting area charities however we can,” said Chapter President Jennifer Jank. “It was another productive meeting for the Loudoun County Chapter!”
The Chapter’s next monthly breakfast meeting will be on August 27th at Eggspectations in Leesburg, VA. Chapter member Linda Hale will give a short presentation on fire safety for small businesses and how to pass a fire inspection.
