NAPW Norfolk, VA Local Chapter Got Creative Marketing Tips from Two Experts at the July Networking Meeting
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) August 01, 2013 -- Members and guests of the NAPW Norfolk, VA Local Chapter gathered on July 18th for a professional networking meeting at the Holiday Inn Norfolk Airport.
At the monthly empowerment meeting, the group of professional women got creative marketing tips for small businesses from two marketing experts.
The member presentation was given by Jo Sandlin White, Marketing Director of Bob’s Jobs, who shared her story of personal and professional growth.
The Boss Ladies, LLC Business Coach & CEO Samantha McGraw, captivated the audience with her presentation, “Ignite Your Business.”
The meeting was opened by Norfolk Chapter President Ivory Morgan-Burton who warmly welcomed the group of nearly 20 women to the networking event.
“The members and guests in attendance all hailed from various fields of business,” said Ms. Morgan-Burton.
“It was a wonderful group of woman. We all learned a lot from one another and from the guest speakers.”
A buffet dinner was then served to members and guests. As those in attendance dined, the member presentation was given by Jo Sandlin White, Marketing Director of Bob’s Jobs, a general handyman service.
“Jo told members and guests that ‘They do the ‘honey-do’s- that honey don’t!’” said Chapter President Morgan Burton.
“She shared with the group her story of personal and professional development over the last few years that have brought her to where she is today. She reminded everyone that it was okay to make mistakes because we learn from them.”
Following Ms. Sandlin White was guest speaker Samantha McGraw, Business Coach & CEO at The Boss Ladies, LLC in Richmond, VA. Her presentation was titled “Ignite Your Business” and her message theme was “Think Positively – Plan Strategically – Work Passionately”.
“Samantha spoke on the importance of creating an ideal client profile, creating your marketing message and finding methods of low- and no-cost marketing,” said the Chapter President.
“The ideal client profile is important because if you have to drag someone into your business, you will have to drag them around in your business,” said Ms. McGraw.
This, she said, highlights the truth that those people not in the ideal client profile are often harder to work with and less profitable for business. She encouraged the group to ask themselves
“What are the top three problems your clients need solved?” and to then build your marketing message around that.
“Follow up was a topic that Ms. McGraw emphasized in her speech as well as utilizing social media to build your likability and trust factor. She surprised the group with her comment that the social media site driving the most business activity is currently Pinterest,” said President Ivory Morgan-Burton.
As the meeting closed, guests and members were encouraged to network and members shared with the group upcoming events of interest. The Norfolk Chapter sponsored a drawing for two tickets for a dinner cruise on The Spirit of Norfolk and admission to the Virtuous Women’s Conference on August 3rd. The winner was Pamela Chesson.
