NAPW South Denver, CO Local Chapter Gathered in June & July to Network and Set Exciting Chapter Goals
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) August 08, 2013 -- Members and guests of the NAPW South Denver, CO Local Chapter held professional networking meetings on June 27th and on July 25th.
In June, members and guests met for dinner at Mimi’s Café where they enjoyed an evening of networking, brainstorming and establishing goals for the new Chapter.
The following month, the group of professional women gathered at a neighborhood cantina to discuss relevant topics facing professional women today and set plans in motion for upcoming Chapter events.
Establishing goals, discussing relevant topics and making exciting plans for the South Denver Local Chapter were the order of business for the two Chapter meetings this summer.
Local Chapter President Renae Fierros-Conn kicked off the networking meeting in June by welcoming members and guests and speaking about what drew her to get involved in the Organization.
She invited attendees to do the same as they introduced themselves to the group.
“Networking with and getting to know other professional women who share the same goals were the number one reasons we all cited for joining NAPW,” said South Denver Chapter President Fierros-Conn.
During the meeting, the group of professional women discussed a number of important topics including the challenges and opportunities women face in the professional business world today.
They also talked about how the Chapter could engage guest speakers to touch on some of these relevant issues.
“We spoke about having an entrepreneur come and speak at a Chapter meeting, someone who could share their expertise when it comes to getting started in business, obtaining business loans, pitfalls to avoid, lessons learned and negotiation skills,” said the Chapter President.
At the July meeting, members and guests networked and learned more about one another.
They discussed the possibility of partnering with the Centennial Local Chapter and perhaps create a panel of professional women who are experts in the fields of investment management, philanthropy and wealth planning.
“Some of the topics members and guests said they would like to see addressed at future meetings included tips for succeeding in a ‘man’s’ world, especially in predominantly male industries and the myth or reality of a ‘glass ceiling,’” said President Renae Fierros-Conn.
The Chapter President announced that Erika Quinn Troyer, co-founder/co-owner of GetSkiTickets.com is tentatively scheduled to speak at the September or October South Denver Chapter meeting.
Ms. Troyer and her partners started GetSkiTickets.com two years ago.
GetSkiTickets.com is a website designed to give discounts for skiing/snowboarding in North America.
They partner directly with the ski resorts so they are able to offer their guests discounts on lift tickets, rentals and lessons. Their goal is to drive business to ski resort partners by packaging ski deals online and providing consumers a one-stop-shop for their skiing/snowboarding adventures.
“As a small business owner, I wear many hats. My main objective is to build partnerships directly with the resorts and maintain the relationship throughout the process. I work closely with our partners throughout the year to create new solutions to help them leverage their business through our website. I love my job and I am passionate about what I do!” said Ms. Troyer.
