NAPW Tucson, AZ Chapter Learned Surprising Benefits of Connecting with Animals from Guest Speaker Ilene Thompson in July
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) July 30, 2013 -- Members and guests of the NAPW Tucson, AZ Local Chapter gathered on July 23rd for a professional networking meeting at Old Pueblo Grill.
The group of professional women heard a fascinating presentation by guest speaker Ilene Thompson, who is an Energy Worker and Animal Communicator.
She discussed how people can benefit from communicating and connecting with animals, citing the Native American culture of respect for all animals.
Tucson Local Chapter President, Barbara Nersesian, kicked off the networking meeting by welcoming members and the new guests in attendance.
She invited each woman to give a one-minute self-introduction and include why or how they chose to be in Tucson. She then introduced the guest speaker.
“Energy Worker and Animal Communicator Ilene Thompson gave a very interesting presentation on how we could benefit by communicating with animals,” said President Nersesian. “Members and guests were truly fascinated by what she had to say.”
Ms. Thompson opened her presentation by asking the audience if they had a pet or animal in their lives and discovered that only two attendees did not.
She went on to discuss how beneficial it can be to communicate and connect with animals.
“What is animal communication?” she asked the group of professional women. “Does it deal with behavior or health problems? They have desires and wishes as do we. Do you know them? Are they happy with the person or what is expected of them?”
The energy worker and animal communicator said that communication begins with connecting with an animal whether it is a pet or a stranger.
Connect heart to heart, she told the audience. Ask permission to enter or begin this communication. She spoke passionately about how everyone needs to be respectful of animals.
“Our culture, unlike Native American cultures, is not attuned to showing respect to the animal world around us. Native Americans wandering the desert do not get bitten by snakes,” said Ms. Thompson.
Ilene Thompson quoted from J. Allen Boone’s book Kinship with All Life, which is about his experiences with a German Shepherd and what he learned from this animal.
“As dinner was being served, various attendees shared their unusual experiences with their pets or therapy animals. It made for a very lively discussion,” said Chapter President Nersesian.
Guest Kathy Berry gave a testimonial for Ms. Thompson based on what was discovered by Ms. Thompson with her dog, Dixie.
Dixie had abandonment issues; therefore, Ms. Berry was advised to communicate in detail about where she is going, when she will return and what they will do.
Guest Alene Schwartz shared her touching experience with a therapy horse she was using to aid in walking as she is in a wheelchair.
After dinner, Ilene Thompson closed her presentation with an invitation to attendees to join her in a mediation asking Mother Earth to assist in their connection with a certain animal in their lives.
Those attendees without a special animal were requested to think of an animal in their neighborhoods.
Before concluding the meeting, the Chapter President announced that Tucson Local Chapter new member Margaret Nunez accepted her invitation to be the speaker at the August meeting. She will deliver her presentation, “The Aloe Miracle.”
The following members were present: Barbara Nersesian, President; Barbara Barth, VP; Lillian Sherman, Secretary; Sue Krider, Sarah Lee-Jovon, Lady Joan and new member, Margaret Nunez.
Judy Sorvisto, Kathy Berry and Jane Meyers were guests of Lillian Sherman; Ann Dalton and Alene Schwartz, guests of Barbara Nersesian, were also present.
Guest speaker, Ilene Thompson invited her friend Karekwennenta Peterson to be her co-speaker.
