New York, New York (PRWEB) September 10, 2013
Last week, video was released showing a driver racing around Manhattan in twenty-four minutes. The driver, who went by the name Afroduck, used a dashboard camera to capture his approximately 26-mile journey around Manhattan, reported The New York Times (9.7.13). Attorney at Law David Perecman, founder of The Perecman Firm, was appalled by the irresponsibility of this act.
"Speed limits are essential for driving safety," Perecman said. "By speeding, this driver potentially put the lives of New York motorists at risk.”
The driver claimed he had set a new speed record for traveling the loop around the island, according to the New York Times.
“He is lucky not to be facing a wrongful death claim,” said New York personal injury lawyer Perecman.
No one was injured in this ride.
According to The New York Times, license-plate readers and surveillance video in the city helped authorities to track down the driver.
The dashboard video showed the driver zipping on the Franklin D. Roosevelt Drive from East 116th Street to the southern tip of Manhattan and back up the West Side Highway, looping around to East 116th Street again, reported The New York Times.
