Facebook is Platinum Sponsor for 2015 National Cyber League’s Fall Season
Chevy Chase, MD (PRWEB) November 10, 2015 -- The National Cyber League (NCL) 2015 fall season now has a platinum sponsor—Facebook.
The NCL creates cybersecurity practice and playing fields (Gyms and Stadiums, respectively), hands-on lab exercises and competitive assessments to help students and faculty from higher education institutions across the country develop and validate information security knowledge and skills. Through the NCL, employers also can get access to player’s individualized performance assessments, which Facebook uses to fill open jobs in its various security teams.
At a time when hackers are stealing U.S. government personnel records, accessing Big Box business credit card information and wreaking havoc on user’s systems, the NCL strives to maintain the high-quality associated with its events to educate the needed security specialists in high demand.
"This is the second year in a row that Facebook is a platinum sponsor of the NCL. This partnership provides critical external support and validation of the NCL model, which provides an ongoing virtual training ground for faculty and students to develop and validate cybersecurity skills using content aligned with individual/team games. The NCL model is scalable across many industry certifications, curricula, job roles, and verticals,” said Casey W. O'Brien, NCL Commissioner. “In addition to helping grow the information security pipeline of talent this country desperately needs, Facebook also gets access to the top NCL performers, who have demonstrated not only what they know but also what they can do."
Sponsorship not only helps defray costs, but also gives sponsors a way to engage in the design, execution and evaluation of league play. To learn more about sponsorship, visit http://www.nationalcyberleague.org/sponsor.shtml.
