As National Funding’s HR Director, Helsel is responsible for managing HR compliance, compensation, benefits, internal processes, training, community involvement and new initiatives. Reporting directly to CEO, David Gilbert, she brings strategic focus to the HR arena as National Funding increases staffing to take advantage of its business growth.
Helsel brings 14 years of human resource and corporate administration experience to her position. She has worked in multiple industries, including biotech and healthcare technology. Most recently, she served as HR Director at Asteres Inc., where she developed and managed human resources and corporate administration in the United States and UK. Helsel also worked at Conforma Therapeutics Corporation before its acquisition by Biogen Idec, Genoptix and Pyxis.
Helsel is a graduate of University of California San Diego’s HR certificate program. She earned the Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR-CA) certification from the HR Certification Institute—recognizing her expertise in strategic HR and California HR law. Helsel is a member of the national and San Diego Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management and the San Diego HR Roundtable.
