NerdCon: Stories announces Featured Guests for 2nd Annual Event

Second annual event draws cross-medium creatives together for a celebration of storytelling this October 14 and 15 in Minneapolis, MN.

NerdCon: Stories (, an annual convention featuring authors, actors, artists, narrators, poets, podcasters, puppeteers, comedians, directors, screenwriters, game designers, musicians, comic writers, and cartoonists, has announced this year’s Featured Guests who will speak on panels, conduct workshops, sign autographs, perform onstage, and otherwise engage in unusual and unique ways with their fans and communities. NerdCon: Stories is returning to the Minneapolis Convention Center October 14 and 15.

The inaugural NerdCon: Stories in 2015 featured over 30 guests from across several storytelling genres who collaborated to provide a two-day conference of connection, content, instruction, and amusement. NerdCon: Stories 2016 will feature both new and returning Featured Guests, some of whom include:

  • Patrick Rothfuss - Fantasy author
  • Leslie Carrara-Rudolph - Actress, singer, puppeteer
  • John Green - YA author, internet creator
  • Nalo Hopkinson - Sci-fi/fantasy author
  • Dylan Marron - Actor, activist
  • Dessa Darling - Musician, writer
  • Max Temkin - Designer, entrepreneur
  • John Darnielle - Musician, author
  • John Scalzi - Sci-fi author

Hank Green, founder of NerdCon: Stories, said, “Our ability to form narratives is what makes us human, and there are infinite things we can learn and share through storytelling. Our hope is that NerdCon will inspire and educate current and aspiring storytellers so that they continue to move the human story forward.” Green has been producing content on YouTube since 2007 and is the founder of VidCon, the world’s largest celebration for online video; SciShow, a YouTube channel that publishes daily videos about popular science subjects; and co-founder of Crash Course, an educational YouTube channel highlighting AP-level courses. NerdCon: Stories is produced by the same team that produces VidCon.
