TheHardwareCity Premieres NeverWet Product Technology by Rust-Oleum
(PRWEB) July 01, 2013 -- TheHardwareCity recently announced its rollout of an innovative new product by manufacturer Rust-Oleum called NeverWet, which promises to be the most effective and advanced water-proofer on today’s market.
"This is a game changer," said Jim Stinner, vice president of marketing for Rust-Oleum. "Everyone is going to want to try it out." Originally projected for industrial use, public demand for NeverWet was first encountered when an internet video, watched by 4 million people, proved the extraordinary coating abilities this silicon-based spray has. Online viewers were surprised to observe how NeverWet was actually able to repel chocolate syrup from a pair of white shoes and water from a cotton shirt.
Using patent-pending “superhydrophobic” technology, the Rust-Oleum NeverWet formula works to repel liquids on virtually any surface including metal, wood, concrete, vinyl, leather, plastic, fabric, and more. It creates a barrier that protects from moisture-causing damage such as corrosion, stains, swelling, and shrinkage. NeverWet takes less than one hour to apply in two simple coats. It dries quickly and can be used outdoors or indoors because of its very low odor. One kit will cover approximately 10-15 square feet. NeverWet dries to a frosted clear and flat finish on most treated surfaces.
Unlike traditional water repellants that allow liquid to remain pooled on top of surfaces, NeverWet causes water droplets “...to roll effortlessly like marbles off of treated surfaces, keeping it dry and protected,” said Stinner. This is known as superhydrophobia and allows the surface coated by Rust-Oleum’s NeverWet to remain thoroughly dry underneath.
Rust-Oleum conducted extensive internal testing on NeverWet to determine its safety and effectiveness on all common household applications before introducing it publicly. NeverWet can withstand temperatures over 110 degrees and repels even extreme water-based substances such as ice, mud, and snow. Additionally, cleaning can be done easily with simple water and a garden hose. NeverWet makes the surface remain completely dry, and therefore has apparent self-cleaning properties.
Consumers can now find Rust-Oleum’s NeverWet on the shelves at The Hardware City retailers for approximately $19.75 per application. Customers may also visit The Hardware City website for online ordering and next-day delivery of NeverWet and other Rust-Oleum products.
