Author Nhial T. Tutlam Unravels the Empowering Life Story of His Father
St Louis, MO (PRWEB) December 16, 2013 -- The absence of author Nhial T. Tutlam’s father had been evident while he was growing up and it used to drive him and his siblings crazy. Eventually, he began to understand why his father was gone most of the time and appreciated the work his father was doing for their people. In “Liberating South Sudan One Patient at a Time,” an inspiring and moving memoir, he shares his father’s story, the story of an unsung hero who made a difference in many people’s lives.
This book is about a journey of one remarkable man, from a village boy to becoming a medical doctor treating refugees in various refugee camps as well as operating on his fellow freedom fighters at the front lines of the struggle for freedom. It is about a man who put the welfare of all his people before his own interest, a man who sacrificed everything, and ultimately his own life, in the service of his people, a humble man who did not seek to be the center of attention but a man who never ran away from helping others. The book is also about the struggle of South Sudanese for their independence, and the stories of those whom no one has ever heard of but made the ultimate sacrifice is told through the story of Dr. Timothy T. Tutlam.
His commitment to the struggle, his sacrifice, his love and care for his people earned him the respect of many of his colleagues in the liberation struggle. His experiences will impart to readers the importance of determination, perseverance, sacrifice, and love for the service of one’s people in the quest to be free. This book will take one to South Sudan and Southwestern Ethiopia as well as Kenya, Uganda and the United States. Dr. Timothy T. Tutlam represented the best of what those selfless men and women did so that their country can be free. His story is relevant especially in the context of leadership that puts country ahead of self-interest, a group of self-less public servants that seeks to improve the welfare of the people they lead rather than amassing wealth at the expense of the people they are supposed to lead.
Empowering and unique, “Liberating South Sudan One Patient at a Time” details the life of an unsung hero seen through the eyes of a son who admired and respected a great man and a leader who put the interest of the greater good above his own.
