Scientel Announces Enhanced Multi Model Support For Gensonix® NoSQL DB With Improved Performance And Storage Efficiency
Bingham Farms, Michigan (PRWEB) February 20, 2014 -- One of the major advantages of NoSQL DBs is the ability to be schemaless, and therefore most NoSQL DBs are deployed in a schemaless environment. However, NoSQLs are generally not adopted in transaction environments due to the lack of ACID compliance. NoSQLs are chosen when “beyond SQL” scalability and “no schema” support are required; whereas, SQLs are chosen when transaction support with ACID compliance is required. When both requirements are present, the deployment of two different types of DBs—SQL and NoSQL—in our data centers must unfortunately be implemented, along with the associated impacts on TCO in terms of additional storage, personnel, administration/documentation tasks, etc.
The problem can be worse when we look at the fact that there are different types of NoSQL DBs based on different data models. NoSQL DBs fall into different types of categories based on the type of data model adopted. The most common types are document, key value, and graph. Users are forced to choose a particular type of NoSQL DB based on their requirement—e.g., whether document or key value, etc. This could mean that in order to solve total system problems, companies may need to deploy two types of NoSQL DBs for unstructured data and an SQL DB for structured data.
Scientel Gensonix DB solves the multiple-DB problems by supporting ACID compliant relational schema along with multiple schemaless data models such as key value, document, and column support all under a single DB. Programmers can choose the appropriate data model with respect to the nature of their data.
When dealing with structured data under Gensonix DB, a relational model can be employed in combination with a RowID and column model which increases the efficiency by reducing storage requirements by as much as 80%. A relational table occupying 100GB can be formatted in a column model to as low as 20GB.
For unstructured data, SQLs simply try to force a content into a blog field which is located in a column in a row. This contributes to accommodation of the variety, variability, and the volume of data for individual contents in an area otherwise defined for ordinary text-based data of much, much smaller size in comparison. This is one reason why SQLs can reach an insurmountable data barrier at some random point.
Gensonix DB excels in its support for unstructured data via the content model, which in itself is extremely efficient. By combining relational, column, and unstructured data models all in one place, not only do Gensonix users interact with just a single DB, but Gensonix DB is also the most efficient data storage system in terms of overall cost and performance when scalability to very large configurations is required.
About Scientel Information Technology, Inc.
Scientel Information Technology, Inc. is a U.S.-based, international, systems technology company, operational since 1977. Scientel also designs/produces highly optimized high end servers, which can be bundled with its "GENSONIX® ENTERPRISE" DBMS software, as a single-source supplier of complete systems for Big Data environments. Scientel also customizes hardware and software for specific applications resulting in higher performance. Scientel's specialty is advanced NoSQL DBMS design and applications/systems integration for advanced business processes. This includes applications for Big Data, commercial intranets, Supply Chain management, IT consulting, support, etc., along with “beyond mainframe-level” Large Data Warehouse Appliance hardware/systems.
GENSONIX® allows very user-friendly data manipulation capabilities found in standard, SQL-based, database management systems, but it goes beyond. It is truly an "ALL-in-One SQL" -- an “All Data Management System” in the form of an ultra-flexible, NoSQL DBMS of perfectly general capabilities and application potentials. It can also function in concert with mainline SQL systems to efficiently handle both structured and unstructured data as a large data warehouse repository. However, it can handle heavy database loads by itself with the aid of the GENSONIX® NSQL©™ query/procedural language. GENSONIX® supports both telnet as well as http interfaces. GENSONIX® is capable of handling trillions of rows/transactions for billions of customers, which is a huge advantage in “truly Big Data” structured applications.
Business customers can take advantage of Scientel’s capabilities in advanced Business Intelligence and Data Analytics to grow their business by handling Big Data more cost-effectively and with greater insights to remain competitive. Scientific, government, and similar organizations can use these capabilities to efficiently process Big Data, instead of being swamped by it. And, Scientel’s Enterprise Content Management & Search solutions can vastly simplify storage, access, and management of any kind of digitized data for any size organization.
