Scientel® Achieves 2 MILLION Transactions Per Minute On A Single Node with Gensonix® NoSQL DB
Bingham Farms, MI (PRWEB) December 11, 2014 -- The Record Breaking speed of 2 Million Transactions per Minute achieved by Scientel’s MDWA2900 system on a Single Node is attributed to the efficiency rendered by its Gensonix NoSQL DB. This technology is an extension of Scientel’s successful Large Data Warehouse Appliance (LDWA) platform and can replace a rack full of refrigerator style servers.
A single node system is no bigger than a single tower and the MDWA2900 system incorporates an identical tower configured in an identical fashion for active replication of the DB which can function on its own in case of a primary node failure. Therefore, the identical node is a fully operating companion node.
The MDWA2900 features the latest in advanced hardware and integrated Gensonix NoSQL DB technology. It utilizes the Intel Xeon 6-core processor (E5-2620V3) operating at 3GHz and is configured with 16 GB of DDR4 SDRAM operating at 2133 MHz. The system also utilizes high speed interconnect switches operating up to 56GBps. When integrated with the inherent blazing speed of the Gensonix NoSQL DB system, the MDWA2900 delivers an ASTOUNDING 2 Million Transactions Per Minute at relatively low system cost and high reliability. The standard configuration utilizes a 128GB SSD for the operating system while the data storage is on a high speed 480GB SSD.
This transaction speed is achieved for a benchmark test run by Scientel which is comprised of 1 transaction record with 1 index per record. The benefits derived from Gensonix just do not stop here. Gensonix is a polymorphic DB with multi-modeling capabilities supported with its NSQL©® language. Multi-modeling includes the ability of utilizing different data models such as relational, network, column, document etc. for a single application within the same DB.
When an application developed in NSQL is rendered on these servers, the actual benefits realized are even higher. This is mainly due to the fact that ordinary applications cannot take advantage of multi-modeling and the real results are even much beyond the transaction speed indicated here.
One of the other benefits of multi-modeling includes far reduced storage requirements when compared with other solutions. For example, it has been shown that a column storage format decreased storage requirements by a factor of 1200% when compared with a typical SQL format. In Gensonix, when a column model is combined with Relational and Network models, the efficiency increases further, resulting in far less storage requirements while increasing the processing efficiency.
