OK Compounding Sponsors Spring Roundup for Kids Against Hunger, Presents a Check for $10,000 to Support the Local Chapter
Tulsa, OK (PRWEB) April 23, 2014 -- OK Compounding, a leading pharmaceutical compounding company in Tulsa, will host a special Hitch Your Wagon Spring Roundup event on Friday, April 25 in support of Kids Against Hunger. The annual fundraiser is one of the non-profit’s chief fundraising events and will feature games, country music, lip-smacking barbecue, and a special presentation of $10,000 to the local Kids Against Hunger organization.
“This event is about more than devouring barbecue and pitching horseshoes,” says Marshall Horn, President/CEO of Kids Against Hunger Global, Inc. of Tulsa. “It’s about making an impact in the lives of children and families who desperately need our help. We’re thrilled to join forces with OK Compounding for this event and look forward to making an even greater impact on the thousands of kids who go hungry each year.”
The event will be held on Friday, April 25 at 6pm at the Historic Perryman Ranch, located at 11524 S. Elwood Avenue just south of Jenks between 111th St. and 121st St. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children. Festivities include a horseshoe contest and Museum tour, DJ and line dancing, a contest for Best Western or Native American outfit, and a deluxe BBQ dinner with all the fixings beginning at 7pm. The evening will conclude with a special presentation by Dr. Gary Lee, Co-founder of OK Compounding, who will present a check in the amount of $10,000 to help support the Kids Against Hunger Global charity.
“I’m thrilled to represent our company in such an amazing outreach,” says Lee. “Never have I seen so many people with such a tremendous heart to help others. I look forward to giving this gift and making a difference by joining with other folks to support this truly incredible and worthy cause.”
Statistics show there are 40,000 children who die somewhere in the world each day from starvation or malnutrition-related diseases. The mission of Kids Against Hunger Global, a humanitarian food-aid organization, is to significantly reduce the number of hungry children in the USA and to feed starving children throughout the world. Since it's launching, Kids Against Hunger chapters nationwide have distributed one billion meals in more than 80 countries worldwide.
OK Compounding says it has worked hard to make the annual Spring Roundup not only an exciting and fun event, but one that makes a dramatic impact for needy families across our community and region.
“Events like this are a critical part of our desire to provide help to local families in need,” says Christopher Parks, Co-founder and CEO of OK Compounding. “We are thrilled we can join with people who care in helping this incredible organization and enhancing the quality of life for families in the community. I can’t express enough how honored we feel to host this event.”
