Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Sets New Record in Detroit Tigers Raffle
Detroit, MI (PRWEB) August 05, 2013 -- August 2nd and 3rd were two great nights in Detroit for Tigers fans and in the fight against pancreatic cancer. The Tigers hosted the Chicago White Sox and Pancreatic Cancer Action Network volunteers sold 50/50 raffle tickets.
“The raffle raised a combined total of $36,790 and set the single-game record in Tiger’s history," said Affiliate Coordinator Fran Czarnecki. "We are so grateful for the support from our volunteers and for everyone's generosity at the games. Together we made a difference for Pancreatic Cancer."
In 2013, more than 45,000 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and nearly 38,500 will die from the disease.
“Approximately 1,300 people in Michigan will be diagnosed this year," said Media Representative David Fuehrer. “The funds raised at the Tiger’s games will help in the fight against pancreatic cancer. Thank you to the Tiger's organization and its fans for their support."
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network provides personalized support for patients, their families and caregivers, as well as supports research that will hopefully lead to better treatment options to increase survival for pancreatic cancer patients.”

PurpleStride Detroit is meant as a day of hope and inspiration for people who have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer as well as a tribute to people who have passed away from this terrible disease," said Fran.
