Passive House in Vermont and Green Home in Rhode Island Win Awards
Boston, MA (PRWEB) November 08, 2013 -- The 2013 PRISM Awards honored a green architecture and mechanical design firm by presenting multiple awards to ZeroEnergy Design (ZED) including ‘Best Energy Efficient Project’ and ‘Most Innovative Green Design’. Hosted every two years by the Builders Association of Greater Boston, the PRISM Awards seek excellence in building, design, and industry related categories.
The awards received by ZeroEnergy Design included ‘Most Innovative Green Design’ with a Silver Prism Award for the Passive House Retreat, a LEED Gold certified home located in Little Compton, Rhode Island. Architecture, Passive House consulting, and mechanical design were provided by ZeroEnergy Design, with general contracting by Aedi Construction.
‘Best Energy Efficient Project’ with a Gold Prism Award went to ZED for the Norwich Passive House, a PHIUS+ Certified Passive House located in Norwich, Vermont. Schematic design, mechanical design, and Passive House consulting, were provided by ZeroEnergy Design, with general contracting by Estes and Gallup, building envelope panels and construction by Bensonwood, Paul Bilgen as consulting architect, and Architectural Openings providing windows and doors.
A Silver Prism Award was also received for ‘Best Bathroom’ for the Moon Hill Bath, an exceptional modern bathroom remodel within a mid-century modern house located in Lexington, Massachusetts. Architecture was provided by ZeroEnergy Design, with construction by S + H Construction.
