Above all else, creating a company vision should be fun!
(PRWEB) July 16, 2014
In his latest blog post at http://www.perwickstrom.com, entrepreneur, author, speaker and drug treatment facility CEO Per Wickstrom is exploring how to develop a company vision.
“Just as individuals need a vision for their life to guide them through the inevitable ups and downs, companies need a vision that they can rely on and rally around in order to steer towards promising and profitable destinations – and avoid hazards and pitfalls,” commented Per Wickstrom. “It’s my hope that this pointers help individuals and teams achieve their full potential, and indeed, exceed even their own high expectations when all is said and done.”
According to Per Wickstrom, building a strong and inspiring company vision involves:
- Asking fundamental, probing questions that get to the heart of why a company exists and who it aims to serve. Focusing on the “how” is less important at this point than understanding the “why”.
- Refining the vision by identifying resources (e.g. staff, funds, expertise, etc.) and potentialities (e.g. growth opportunities, capital, etc.).
- If necessary – and it usually is – developing multiple visions that compliment each other. For example, one vision may point towards a marketing goal, while another may point towards a staffing/HR goal, and so on.
“Above all else, creating a company vision should be fun!” added Per Wickstrom. “It’s an opportunity to launch into the future and say: this is who we want to be and why. Those tasked with building the vision should find the process energizing, exciting and encouraging. When that happens, their positive attitude will naturally flow into the vision and make it that much better; and that much closer to becoming a reality!”
