Pierce Transit Selects Apollo Video Technology to Deliver Mobile Video Monitoring Solution
Lakewood, Wash. (PRWEB) March 10, 2015 -- The Pierce County Public Transportation Benefit Area Corporation (Pierce Transit) has selected Apollo Video Technology (Apollo Video) to outfit its entire fleet with a comprehensive mobile video surveillance and information management solution. The decision comes after the agency conducted an analysis and product review period. Implementation of the project began in February and all work is expected to be completed by the end of April.
As part of this safety and security enhancement, Apollo Video will install 140 camera systems in transit buses, public safety vehicles and service supervisor vans. Up to 12 cameras will be installed on each vehicle throughout the fleet. Implementation of the RoadRunner HD™ on-board video surveillance system will offer a comprehensive and customized solution that includes high-definition recorders, advanced high-definition IP cameras and sophisticated accessories comprising of wireless routers, accelerometers and GPS. This state-of-the-art system will be integrated with Vehicle Information Management (ViM™) Software allowing users to view and organize video clips as well as examine the health of equipment onboard each bus. These features ensure that access to high-definition footage is readily accessible by Pierce Transit administrators for monitoring transit activity and ensuring ongoing performance. Pierce Transit officials see this initiative as a step forward in enhancing the safety and security of passengers and drivers alike.
