Online consumer advocacy website, PissedConsumer.com, released a new company comparison tool allowing shoppers to research and compare companies based on past consumer feedback and reviews.

This new comparison tool makes the website a resource for more proactive consumer research. Shoppers can protect themselves from companies with a history of poor customer service and find competitors more worthy of their business.

U.S. consumer advocacy and customer complaints website, PissedConsumer.com, now lets consumers compare similar companies based on their reputations and history of customer reviews. The new "Compare Companies" feature, released just in time for the holiday shopping season, allows shoppers to make more informed buying decisions.

"Pissed Consumer is more than a place to post customer complaints," said Joanna Simpson of PissedConsumer.com. "This new comparison tool makes the website a resource for more proactive consumer research. Shoppers can protect themselves from companies with a history of poor customer service and find competitors more worthy of their business. It's also a research tool for journalists looking for alternate sources in an industry or trying to find background information about companies they're covering."

To start using "Compare companies" tool, shoppers should enter the names of companies they want to compare side-by-side. Alternatively, visitors can browse categories to find companies they're interested in, and then click the "compare companies" link on the right side of a company's profile page to begin the comparison process.

An example of this new feature in action is this comparison of travel booking services consumers might want to use to book their holiday travel: http://www.pissedconsumer.com/compare-companies/cheapoair-vs-expedia-vs-travelocity.html

Visitors conducting pre-holiday shopping research might also compare major department stores or popular online retailers to get a better picture of each company's customer service history.

Another addition to PissedConsumer.com is the "Competitors" tab which is now available on company profile pages. If a visitor isn't sure what a company's biggest competitors are in order to do a comparison, this feature will help them identify comparable businesses.

Clicking the "Competitors" tab at the top of a profile page automatically loads a company comparison page featuring the originally-selected business and its top two competitors, as determined by Pissed Consumer's algorithm. An example "Competitors" page can be viewed at http://lowes.pissedconsumer.com/competitors.html .

This company comparison information can help holiday shoppers identify other retailers offering lower prices as well as alternative stores to those they prefer not to support this holiday shopping season.
