Project Lifesaver International's PAL Division Introduces Freedom4Kids
Port St. Lucie, FL (PRWEB) September 12, 2014 -- Project Lifesaver International is the nationally recognized leader in providing training and technology to both first responders and caregivers to help protect and when necessary quickly locate and rescue individuals with cognitive disorders who are prone to the life threatening behavior of wandering, including those with Alzheimer’s disease, Autism, and Down syndrome.
One year ago Project Lifesaver released PAL, the newest and most effective protect and locate solution designed specifically to reduce the potential of a life threatening wandering episode. PAL differs from most other protect and locate devices in that it is a functioning sports watch that is equipped with GPS and cellular locating technology.
PAL also includes an RF (Radio Frequency) "Safe Zone". The RF "Safe Zone" allows the caregiver to create an electronic perimeter around the individual wearing the watch. When the RF "Safe Zone" is breached the caregiver will hear an alarm and be able to stop the wandering event before it can ever happen. For the caregiver’s convenience, PAL also has an internet portal available that is accessible worldwide from any PC or smart phone and allows for real time tracking with regular location updates. Any of these events will update the internet portal and send an e-mail alert and/or a text message to the caregiver.
Freedom4Kids uses the same technology combination of GPS, GSM and an RF "safe zone". Freedom4Kids offers the same device and internet applications as PAL, but with modifications that make it more effective and appropriate for a young person. The first, adjustment we made to the Kids version is to give the caregiver the option to disable the panic button on the watch from the portable receiver. This important modification was made in order to eliminate false alarms if the watch is being worn by a child who might tend to fidget with the device. Second, it has a higher water resistance and can be worn showering and in the pool but not submerged for long periods of time. Third, Freedom4Kids is available in three colors black, blue, and purple.
Additionally, the Freedom4Kids subscriptions programs models the same process and ordering procedure as PAL.
