Promises Treatment Centers Expands to Southwest with Introduction of Promises Austin in Texas

This addition marks Promises’ first expansion outside of Southern California in its 25-year history. In 2011, Promises’ parent organization, Elements Behavioral Health, acquired Right Step, a network of addiction treatment centers in Texas that included a high-end drug rehab program called Spirit Lodge. Promises Austin was born out of Spirit Lodge. Promises Austin treats a maximum of 24 clients at a time, ages 26 and over, many of whom are professionals and other individuals who require the highest standards of privacy and discretion. In this intimate setting, clients recover among peers who are equally committed to the process and receive highly personalized care from a team of experienced psychiatrists, physicians, counselors, a doctorate-level psychologist, an EMDR-trained trauma specialist, and 24-hour nursing staff.
Promises Austin offers medically monitored drug and alcohol detox and comprehensive, 12-Step based treatment for dual diagnosis, or substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Its 35- and 60-day addiction and dual diagnosis treatment programs include:
• A comprehensive, individualized assessment with a doctorate-level psychologist
• Ongoing consultations with a psychiatrist, psychologist, nutritionist, spiritual adviser and personal trainer, as needed
• At least two weekly individual counseling sessions
• Approximately 10 hours per week of small group counseling sessions
• Weekly family involvement and a three-day intensive family program
• An innovative fitness and nutrition program
• One year of Recovery Coaching with a primary therapist
Promises Austin provides healing in all of the areas that are impacted by addiction, including mind, body and spirit. The treatment team utilizes traditional evidence-based therapies, such as individual, group and family therapy, 12-Step involvement, educational lectures, cognitive-behavioral therapy and other time-tested approaches.
In addition, clients have the opportunity to participate in more than a dozen complementary therapies, from yoga, acupuncture and massage therapy to EMDR, aqua therapy, drum circles, art therapy and more.
