NetSTAR, Inc., a global leader in URL categorization and web security and Qosmos®, the market leader in Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and network intelligence technology for use in physical, SDN and NFV architectures, today announced a strategic partnership that will simplify the integration of NetSTAR’s inCompass® URL categorization and web security technology with the Qosmos ixEngine®.

With NetSTAR’s inCompass technology working side-by-side with Qosmos ixEngine, hardware vendors, software vendors, solution providers, operators, and service providers will be able to quickly and easily exploit the full power of Qosmos DPI technology recognizing over 97% of network traffic with a library of over 2,500 plugins and signatures, and a total of over 4,300 metadata. This is combined with NetSTAR’s ability to categorize over 98% of all URL (http/https) traffic in one of over 180 different categories as well as over 12 different securities categories including malware, botnets, infected sites, spyware, phishing and spam.
