Silicon Valley Veteran Joins QuickMobile to Lead Mobile Event App Engineering
Vancouver, B.C. (PRWEB) February 19, 2014 -- QuickMobile, the recognized global leader in mobile event apps, today announced that Robert Chen has been appointed vice president (VP) of engineering. Chen returns to Vancouver after more than 24 years working for a number of start-ups and large enterprises in Silicon Valley, Calif. Most recently, Chen was VP of engineering for Vitria Technology in Sunnyvale, Calif., where he was responsible for all product development, quality assurance and DevOps functions for the real-time operations intelligence company.
Prior to Vitria, Chen served as senior director of engineering for CA where he was responsible for implementing and supporting CA’s cloud-based IT Service Management product suite. At CA, he managed three engineering teams in four global locations. A veteran of Silicon Valley, Chen has held various management and engineering positions at IBM, BEA and Oracle in addition to a number of successful start-ups.

A native of Vancouver, Chen earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Simon Fraser University. He also earned a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Southern California.
