Rehab Management Solutions Educates Therapists on How to Become Industrial Specialists; Offers 2-Day Course on Functional Testing
Sturtevant, WI (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- Rehab Management Solutions (RMS), a Physical Therapist owned-and-operated company that helps physical and occupational therapists open and grow their own practices, was excited to host a two-day functional test training for a private practice in Rice Lake, WI on June 19-20, 2013. The training is the third part of a four part educational series in RMS’ Work Injury Program. Clinics who offer such specialty services are able to open the door to new networking and cash-based opportunities.
The WIPI program’s proven operations and systems, developed 20 years ago by RMS’ Founder and CEO, Larry Briand, MS, PT, ATC, focuses on educating a practice’s clinical and administrative staff on how to create a culture and philosophy centered on the treatment of the injured worker. The functional test training component not only educates providers on how to complete Functional Progress Notes, Functional Discharge Summaries, Job Demands Analyses, and Work Hardening/Work Conditioning programs (Functional Capacity Evaluation training available upon request), but it also teaches them how to speak the language of the employer. This is crucial in any workman’s compensation case as proper communication allows for better outcomes, a faster recovery time, and therefore can lead to more referrals.
Mark Smith, PT, Clinic Director of Rice Lake Physical Therapy and Rehab Specialists underwent the functional test training with his staff this past month. Smith felt the course is vital to his practice’s success: “Understanding and being able to offer this functional testing component truly makes our practice a Center for Excellence in workman’s compensation. Within the RMS WIPI course, my staff learned you need to prove to the employers, payers and the medical community that you can speak their language and understand function. This education will truly allow us to stand apart from our competition.”
RMS is proud to receive successful feedback from the WIPI program with several attendees securing more on-site services and networking opportunities. Briand is excited to continue expanding and offering the program nationally to providers at any stage of practice. “We look forward to our upcoming summits. It is truly rewarding to see therapists expand their specialty services though our WIPI program, allowing them to better meet the needs of their communities and become the clinics of choice for workman’s compensation and industrial preventive services,” states Briand.
The next WIPI functional test training summit is scheduled to be held in Kenosha, WI at the end of July for a national network of providers.
