ROBO-STOX Strategic Advisory Board Member to Receive Prestigious Robotics Award
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 10, 2015 -- ROBO Strategic Advisory Board member, Raffaello D'Andrea is the recipient of the 2016 IEEE Robotics and Automation Award. IEEE is the world’s largest professional association for the advancement of technology. The Robotics and Automation Society, the organization that sponsors the award, selected D’Andrea for his “pioneering contributions to design and implementation of distributed, cooperative robotics and automation systems for commercial applications,” according to the award citation.
Raffaello D’Andrea is the professor of dynamic systems and control at ETH Zurich. He also co-founded Kiva Systems, now operating as Amazon Robotics, where he led the systems architecture, robot design, robot navigation and coordination, and control algorithms efforts. Earlier this year, D’Andrea was also presented with the Engelberger Robotics Award.
