Randall Baxter releases new book of World War II memories from veterans

(PRWEB) June 04, 2014 -- In his new book, “The Veteran Next Door: Stories from World War II Vol. 1” (published by AuthorHouse), author Randall Baxter presents a collection of stories and memories from both soldiers and civilians who risked their lives for the good of their countries.

“The book is an attempt to put the World War II experience from the voice of a storyteller into print,” says Baxter. “It gives the readers a chance to learn about the war from the viewpoint of the average citizen and soldier.”

“The Veteran Next Door” shares the experiences for soldiers and civilians who witnessed the war firsthand. Baxter interviews a woman who was just two years old when she escaped a terrible fate at Auschwitz and a drifter who found purpose in his life by becoming a marine. The book celebrates the heroic efforts of farmers and scholars who rose to the challenge and left an everlasting mark on the world.

About the Author
Randall Baxter earned a B.S. in education from the University of Tennessee. He was a college instructor at the end of the Vietnam War and became involved with veterans as they began to exercise their G.I. Bill Benefits soon after. He later left education and operated his own brokerage service, Asset Positioning Services, LLC. In 2010, Baxter received the opportunity to write, produce and host the radio program, “The Veteran Next Door,” which served to inspire this collection.
