Well-known bookseller, specializing in signed and collectible books, names bestselling author Raymond Khoury Author of the Month.

Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) October 10, 2013

VJ Books is proud to announce author Raymond Khoury as its Author of the Month for October.

Raymond Khoury is the author of five consecutive New York Times bestsellers: his debut THE LAST TEMPLAR, THE SANCTUARY, THE SIGN, THE TEMPLAR SALVATION, and THE DEVIL'S ELIXIR. His screenwriting credits include the hit BBC TV series Spooks (known as MI: 5 in the US) and the Emmy-award winning series Waking the Dead.

Khoury brings an interesting perspective to the genre having moved to New York from his native home at the outbreak of the Lebanon civil war in 1975. He was evacuated from Beirut in February, 1984, by the Marine Corp's 22nd Amphibious Unit aboard a Chinook helicopter.

After a successful career, Khoury left the world of investment banking to become a screenwriter and author. His first screenplay was shortlisted for a Fulbright Fellowship in Screenwriting. His next, a semi-autobiographical screenplay about his college years during the civil war, was also shortlisted for the award the next year.

From then on, Raymond Khoury has worked as a screenwriter and producer both in London and Los Angeles. He turned his original screenplay of The Last Templar into what would be his first novel, becoming an instant New York Times and international bestseller.

"We are offering special pricing on his signed books October 1st – 31st," said John Hutchinson, owner of VJ Books, an online bookstore. "It's a great time to complete a collection or try one of his novels for the first time."

Khoury's newest release, RASPUTIN'S SHADOW, takes place on a cold, bleak day in 1916, when all hell breaks loose in a mining pit in the Ural Mountains, and present day.

Packed with the twists, intrigue, and excitement that Khoury’s many fans have come to expect, Rasputin’s Shadow will keep readers turning pages long into the night. Of the book, the Library Journal's review includes "History, mystery, suspense, and action—Khoury knows the recipe for a good read."
