RE/MAX Northwest Inc.’s Broker, Darrin Goebel, has volunteered to help feed his community through Project Angel Heart for the past seven years and today, has made a commitment to volunteer for seven more.

Project Angel Heart’s mission is to deliver nutritious meals to improve quality of life, at no cost, for those coping with life-threatening illness. “This is a wonderful organization with a great mission, and it has been an honor for me to lend a helping hand,” Darrin Goebel said. Darrin typically runs the machine on the line, affectionately known as “Oliver,” which safety seals each meal.

Project Angel Heart was founded in 1991 to address major challenges facing Coloradans living with a life-threatening illness—getting the nutrition they need to become stronger and remain independent in their homes. Many are too sick to get to the grocery store, have to choose whether to buy food or medication, or are too weak to make themselves or their dependents a meal.

What started out as a group of community members delivering donated lasagna to 12 individuals living with HIV/AIDS, has grown into a thriving organization preparing and delivering delicious, individually modified meals to thousands of Coloradans living with cancer, kidney/heart/lung disease, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, multiple sclerosis and other life-threatening illnesses.

Darrin, who has been in real estate since 1991, specializes in buyer brokerage, development land, farm and land, foreclosure property, luxury homes, new construction, and short sales, said that those that can volunteer will continue to help Project Angel Heart carry out its mission. In fact, if it were not for the over 600 volunteers like Darrin, Project Angel Heart would not be able to do what they do.
