North Jersey Home Care Agency Supports Relay for Life Fundraiser
(PRWEB) May 27, 2015 -- Visiting Nurse Association of Northern NJ (VNA), is proud to serve as Caregiver Sponsor at the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life fundraiser. The event takes place Saturday, June 6th from 4:00PM to 12:00AM at Mennen Sports Arena, 161 East Hanover Ave, Morristown, NJ. At the event, teams will take turns walking around the track to raise money and awareness to help the ACS support its vision of “a world with more birthdays.”
According to the ACS, it is estimated that more than 1.6 million new cases of cancer will be diagnosed and nearly 600,000 deaths will occur from cancer in the US this year. “Almost all of us have been touched by cancer in some way, so we decided to make a difference by supporting our local Relay for Life event,” said Amanda DeFelice, VNA Development Manager.
The schedule of events during the Relay includes: Survivor Birthday Party, Dance Theme Lap, Super Hero Theme Lap, Yoga for Survivors, Luminaria Ceremony, Fight Back Ceremony and performances from local musicians and dance groups. There is no fee to register and all are welcome to be a part of VNA’s team. Team members don’t need to stay for the entire Relay, they can come and go as they please.
“VNA’s team, Spirited Sparkplugs, is so excited to be a part of Relay for Life in Morristown. This event is a great way to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones and join our neighbors in the fight against cancer. There are a lot of great things planned for this year’s event – it’ll be a great evening for people of all ages.” said DeFelice.
