Residence Inn And Courtyard Hotels Near Calgary Airport To Host Carwash For Local Charity
Calgary, Alberta, Canada (PRWEB) August 30, 2013 -- Even miracles need a little help now and then. Join the Courtyard Calgary Airport and Residence Inn Calgary Airport for their second annual Shine & Dine on Friday, September 6, 2013, in support of the Children’s Miracle Network.
From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the hotels near the Calgary airport will host a car wash and silent auction as well as offer a taco lunch for $2. Employees of both hotels will operate the car wash and take free-will donations. Proceeds will go to the local Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Among the many items being auctioned during the fundraising event are a two-night stay at Tinhorn Chalet at Tinhorn Creek Vineyards in Osoyoos, British Columbia, donated by Renaissance Wines (a $750 value with a welcome wine basket) and a dog sled trip for two with Snowy Owl Sled Dog Tours in Canmore, British Columbia (a $350 value).
Operating in its 30th year, the Children’s Miracle Network has raised more than $4.7 billion for the 170 children’s hospitals throughout Canada and the United States. Donations are used to support research and training, purchase equipment and pay for special care for children with cancer, traumatic injury or genetic disease. The Calgary airport hotels are proud to help raise funds for the network.
The Alberta Children’s Hospital is about 5 miles (8.3 kilometres) from the hotels, so parents and loved ones with patients at the facility can stay and enjoy comfortable rooms with amenities including coffeemakers, irons and ironing boards, pull-out sofa beds, safes and spacious bathrooms.
Visitors who stay at the Residence Inn also can take advantage of fully equipped in-suite kitchens with dishwashers, microwave ovens, pots, pans, serving dishes, refrigerators with icemakers, silverware, stoves, tables and chairs and toasters. Ideal for extended stays, the kitchens provide travelers with the option of purchasing groceries and cooking for themselves rather than eating out for every meal.
The Courtyard features The Bistro - Eat. Drink. Connect. The café-style restaurant raises the bar on breakfast and dinner and features strategically placed flat-screen TVs displaying news, entertainment and sports programming. Families or small business groups can gather around a large communal table to enjoy fresh seasonal fruit, thick-cut French toast, daybreak fried eggs, burgers, pizzas, salads, soups and made-to-order sandwiches. Diners also can pull up a chair at the bar or enjoy comfortable seating at additional tables while imbibing craft, domestic and imported beers, wines by the glass, cocktails or any number of grande-sized Starbucks drinks.
